The History Behind Pro Audio and Studio Service
In 1994, Edwin Herrera was hired by Washington Music Center
as a stock boy, loading and unloading UPS trucks and carrying boxes to
customer's vehicles.
In 1996, he decided to attend T.E.C.
electronics school. Electronics had always been an interest of his.
By 1997, he graduated from T.E.C.
and received certification in electronics troubleshooting and repair. He
was offered several jobs in this field but at the same time many
underestimated his abilities. He was finally given a chance to use his
skills in a well known service repair center. Everyone around him noticed
that he had a natural talent for electronics. He developed shortcuts for
testing and repairing large mixers, turntables and digital recording
equipment. While other techs didn't feel as comfortable with large units,
Edwin felt as though the bigger the unit the greater the challenge.
After working there for four years
he realized that he wasn't moving up the ladder nor would there be a chance
to do so there. He was working six days a week and putting in long hours.
He felt like he was giving his talent away as his desire to keep
progressing increased.
In 2003, he began making house
calls, which turned out to be quite successful and came up with the name
"Pro Audio and Studio Service". Business began to pickup. He
started bring repairs home. Soon his two bedrooms were filled with service
jobs and spilling over onto the kitchen table. After saving a few dollars,
He located a shop in Hyattville, Maryland.
Pro Audio and Studio Services
officially opened its doors to the public on July 8, 2004 and now we provide
service contracts with music stores, local musicians, schools, and
churches.
